It may be cold outside – but venture out of the UK and there is still sun to be found!

Caribbean

Flight time – 8 – 11 hours

It is said the best time to visit the Caribbean is between December and April, when the weather is warm and dry, with low humidity, little rain and cool comfortable nights.

Long days of sunshine, beautiful beaches and laid back cheerful atmospheres make it the ideal place to brush off any winter blues.

With each island having its own character and wonder sites – everything form luscious landscapes, to breath taking waterfalls and white sand beaches  there will be an island to suit everyone! And if you cant choose, why not try a little island hoping on a Caribbean Cruise?

When to travel

As December to April is peak time it is typically 20% – 50% more expensive than the summer months – which are hotter and more humid with rain downpours common.

School holidays are always more expensive times, but if have to stick to these you might find a bargain in the May break when the weather is still usually very nice.

(Hotels and bars generally close September and October for hurricane season)

Canary Islands

Flight time – 4 – 5 hours

When the British weather starts to cool, you can always rely on the Canary Island for a sunshine fix. With only a 4 – 5 hour flight time form the UK, its close enough to pop over for a long weekend.

The expansive sunny beaches of Maspalomas Gran Canaria are perfect from sun worshipers, whilst the more adventurous can venture up a volcanoes and take camel rides through the dunes!

Golf, fantastic restaurants and boat trips make for some adult fun. And for the kids there are water parks, aquariums and zoos aplenty!

When to travel

The Canary Island boast all year round sunshine and little to no rain, so whenever you are ready for a trip away they are too! You will find warmth and sunshine straight through the winter months.

Florida Keys and Miami

Flight Time – 9 -10 hours

December and January are typically the months with least rain fall, and remain outside the hurricane season. Temperature are still warm at around 20.C in the day, and without the humidity and crowds of the summer months.

The warmer resorts at this time of year are likely to be those further South such as the Florida Keys, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

The Floiday Keys are teeming with activities for all ages – everything from ship wreck snorkelling, to prized game fishing and galleries and museums. Fast on delicious fresh seafood or unwind in the beautiful surroundings. Whatever takes your fancy!

If your looking to do some celebrity spotting head to Miami beach where the hip and trendy hang out – or the Flriday Everglades to see arguably their most famous residents – the alligators!

When to Travel

December and January are typically the best of the Winter months to visit. If it’s the parks you fancy the weather will be milder than summer months but you will escape the crowds,  long queues and high humidity.
