BOSIET – Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training – is targeted at new personal to the offshore industry.

The course aims to equip delegates with a basic understanding of the offshore environment and its hazards, as well as safety practises and management systems in place to manage these hazards. Amongst other topics, the course also covers firefighting, helicopter safety and escape, and survival at sea.

The course is a mixture of theory and practical training and assessment.

How long is your certificate valid?

Your certificate will last 4 years at which point you will need to the sit the FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training) course.

MIST – (Minimum Industry Standard Training) – covers several aspects of offshore safety. It was introduced in 2009 to address concerns over safety knowledge and awareness in the offshore oil industry and is designed to develop on the safety topics covered in the BOSIET course.

  • Working Safely including Safety Observations Systems
  • Understanding the Risk Assessment Process
  • Tasks that Require a Permit to Work
  • Personal Responsibility in Maintaining Asset Integrity
  • Using Manual Handling Techniques every day
  • Controlling the use of Hazardous Substances Offshore
  • Knowledge and Practices of Working at Height
  • Being Aware of Mechanical Lifting Activities

 How long is your certificate valid?

Your certificate upon completion will last 4 years.
